An idea:
There`s an xdelta utility, which allows to make diffs for binary files, like ISO. This can be used to update VmwAROS images after minor fixes, making files a lot smaller. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xdelta http://xdelta.org/ I`ve used version 1.1.3 for Win and it was working nice.

VmwAROS is *perfectly tailored* to work under VMware products. Freel free to download VMware Server from www.vmware.com for your operating system, and try VmwAROS on it: except sound, which is unluckily unsupported, you'll get everything else working immediately, network included.

aros-live doesnt boot for me either.
i have an abit nf7 with nvidia chipset, ata harddrives and a radeon 9600 gfx-card, p2s mouse and keyb hooked to a kmv-switcher, which is connected to the peecee with usb. tried all of the possible options at grub, result was flickering screen or a black screen with an inmovable red mouse pointer. boot also wasnt successful on my pal's coreduo peecee with nvidia gfx. any hint? (except of wait for a new version...:) |

My ASUS A3F notebook keeps booting AROS ok. USB mice don`t work.
Apollo133A machine still hangs with 0.7.1

vmwaros live does not boot on one of my computers. That is of cause with the new version of vmwaros. I know it's the ata.device.
Just wanted to tell, because I know some others will have the same issue. I will try to compile aros on that mashine today, to see what is wrong.

That's a known problem: some intel video chips don't support VESA modes correctly, so AROS won't run on them in VESA mode. The only hope for this is someone to code a proper Intel 2D driver.

That's really weird. It seems your computer has problems booting AROS whatever ata.device is used. Have you tried booting without any USB device plugged in their ports? Unluckily we can't test AROS on every existing platform, and the new ata.device should work on any PATA architecture.
