As far as I know we don't have SYS:C/Edit on AROS ;)
I guess you forgot it there, but then your script seems to edit (using SYS:Tools/Editor) a "edit" file in SYS:C (three times).

Everyone knew it was impossible. Along came a fool who did not know and he did it.

Ok, here's the new ConfigIP

Quote:
# ConfigIP by Paolo Besser v0.2

# stopping the network
execute sys:Extras/Networking/Stacks/AROSTCP/S/stopnet

#every config file, once saved in envarc:, is copied to env:

;sys:tools/editor envarc:AROSTCP/db/hosts
;copy envarc:AROSTCP/db/hosts env:AROSTCP/db/hosts

sys:tools/editor envarc:AROSTCP/db/netdb-myhost
copy envarc:AROSTCP/db/netdb-myhost env:AROSTCP/db/netdb-myhost

sys:tools/editor sys:C/edit envarc:AROSTCP/db/interfaces
copy envarc:AROSTCP/db/interfaces env:AROSTCP/db/interfaces

sys:tools/editor sys:C/edit envarc:AROSTCP/db/static-routes
copy envarc:AROSTCP/db/static-routes env:AROSTCP/db/static-routes

sys:tools/editor sys:C/edit sys:extras/Networking/Apps/YAFS-1.7.1-aros-i386/bin/AROS-i386/yafs.ini

# restart the network
execute sys:Extras/Networking/Stacks/AROSTCP/S/startnet

I have a strange issue I can't stand. If I execute manually all the steps above, it runs correctly. But as a shell script, when executing the last command, I get a strange behavior

1. the network actually restarts, and that's ok

2. but the IP remain the same as before, like nothing in ENVARC: and ENV: changed

3. for some seconds, a "RX: # Object not found" error appears on the screen, then fades away.

The incredible thing is that, If I open a shell after ConfigIP has finished working, and invoke stopnet and startnet manually, the problem doesn't occurs and the IP gets updated as expected. Any clue?
