I've fixed the Play command, but can't commit it immediately because of limited internet connectivity. The problem was that it was exiting without waiting for playback to finish.

In doing so you've also prevented me to do a solo-trip down buggy-lane concerning the resize issue.

I can confirm this issue, and indeed has been there as well for a long time (most probably also re-flow related).

That one is definitely a papercut in my book, and is perhaps even more annoying then everything else i've come across so far.

It seems that I can confirm the problem after all. I opened a shell in v0-ot and executed the Icaros shell-startup so I would have the cls command. After following the steps I had the same issue with buffer text appearing when I clicked the mouse.

I also had the issues that I mentioned earlier when resizing or scrolling the shell window.

Type dir and then cls again. Now either raise the scrollbar, Resize the window, or use the zoom gadget to shrink and expand the window.

At this point if I type anything, I find that the shell cursor gets repositioned somewhere inside the buffer text.

You are correct, the steps i've written down, does not lead to the 'bug' indeed.

Tested on regular 1.5.2 from may 2013, the steps do not reproduce the issue as described. Appearantly, i remembered wrongly or there are more steps needed to reproduce on that setup.

Again, i'm terribly sorry about that, and thank you very much for having retried, as it surely shows that some feedback on a report is very useful (and welcome).

For now, I'll adjust my report, being Icaros WiP related only (as on that setup these steps do reproduce the issue. well, at least again when i tried. feedback welcomed)

I'm terribly sorry, but what 'problem' are you faced with when doing a shrink/re-shrink ? It is currently unclear as to which 'problem' doing so, things lead.

I welcome such addition as well (btw: i seem to remember last papercut round i asked to disable non implemented menu options in shell like saving the buffer. so it might have been that your suggestion was a planned feature).

Ok, I entered dir, and afterward cls. Then I went on a mad clicking spree, above, below, and on the shell cursor line. I hope I followed the directions, but had no issues anywhere I double-clicked.

But I did have a problem if I clicked the zoom gadget to shink, and clicked again to restore the shell window. It was the same problem I had before when resizing or scrolling the window.

I used the revised Icaros 1.5.2. And later I tried the original 1.5.2 (booting from the DVD) on a different machine.

This sort of leads to yet another feature request. In another thread, I asked for a larger buffer so I could scroll back farther, but it would also be nice to have a shell menu option to clear the history completely and start fresh. That might help solve your problem too.

That's odd as i've experienced it for a long time now. Just in case: i refined the steps + added pictures.

But, perhaps it's something particular in my setup or something i'm doing wrong. (you'll never know).

On what exact distro where you not able to reproduce ? I'll double check on that particular distro then to make sure it exist there as well (or not, ofcourse ).

Yeah, it contains some trickery sequence to clear the shell. And it does clear the shell, but in my example it seems the actual buffer is not cleared (or at least the re-appearing text is coming from somewhere).

Yups, i agree 100%. it is one of the most annoying ones around and a crime when trying to get something (sane) back from a compilation (only able to solve that using redirection to a file).

fwiw: reason for me to believe these issues are perhaps (somewhat) related is, that also when the re-flow 'bug' appears, all kinds of mystery text re-appears when double-clicking with the left mouse-button in the shell.
