As far as the nightly, I may do that tonight.

Has my fix that I commited worked for your sound problem? Before I had no sound at all or if any sound came out it was distorted.

On your BIOS it might be something with ACPI line in it and not written as Plug&play OS. If you can then disable ACPI support from the board.

Other than some atom/ion boards, which are generally only available in mini-itx form (ClusterUK's market) without PCI slots (for catweasel, wireless cards, upgraded sound cards, or whatever), which motherboards are known to work with nouveau and their builtin GeForce graphics? as well as having network and sound and USB and ATA chips supported under AROS?

If I recall correctly ARES systems were spec'd out and announced here before nouveau was officially working with any "onboard" chipsets. Also it seemed important to him to be able to install AMDs latest multi-core CPUs as an option, and the AM3 motherboards with onboard nvidia seem to be a generation or two behind what's available for an Intel CPU, making them harder to sell to dual-booting Windows + AROS market.

The presumption remains that eventually there will be ATI drivers as nice as the nouveau driver currently is.

Because of bearsofts work?!
My ittention was to use it in order to get a ATI driver.
In the meanwhile baersofts own ittention was to give it a try.
I have to say that he decided it independent from me.

I will have to check the web. This bios is much different than some of the others I have used. Finding plug and play os is not happening yet.

Hi,

Could you test again with next nightly's HDAudio driver if the sound still crackles? If you're missing interrupts please check that under BIOS settings you DO NOT have plug&play OS selected as Aros at this point is unable to route interrupts on it's own and need BIOS to do that.
