I'm putting a little UP on this thread cause i tried it again, and it crashed.

@ntromans : It's true that it is interesting that I have an intel chipset cause in VESA the screen recording works (not very fast, maybe 1 image per second).

I'm running last icaros update (2.2), on the same machine described before in this thread.

@Kalamatee : do you think replacing jpeg library can be of help ? Which jpeg library version should I use ?

for info : i have exactly the same behavior as ntromans (cf his screenshots)

if this comes from jpeg lib changes, as kalamatee says, please notice I'm using the one from 2.1.1

Going by the output, it looks like it is something to do with the jpeg library changes again...

"It works for me"? on VMware, with VESA drivers, on current Icaros 2.2 build (later than Xmas preview and 2.1.x).

For me VESA crashed as well (with nVidea chipset)- please see here.

Please try booting in VESA mode (move your screenmode.prefs file away from envarc: before doing it, and use advanced GRUB options to select a suitable screen resolution) and run screenrecorder from that.

This will give us more hints about the root cause of the problem. Thank you.

To answer the question : i've an intel based chipset but i use the nvidia Quadro 380 which is well recognized by AROS.

So I'm in native graphics.

All I meant by "out of interest" was that I just wondered for my own information, and was not offering to fix this - I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to start.

Interesting that you have an intel chipset there. When you boot, is it into native graphics or vesa?

It has for me : I would have liked to use it to record my aros screen and make better tutorials on my website.

The crash is a "division by 0".

Just out of interest, which graphics system was this? I had this problem with gallium but not with IntelGMA graphics.
