Hi.
I'm looking for a complete package as well. Nowadays networking is a must, IMO. In AmigaE on AOS3 It seems there are AmiTCP modules. This source seems to work: http://aminet.net/package/comm/net/GoFetch12_Src. Can this somehow be reused for PortablE? Manfred

Just a small update to what I wrote:
Quote: I have actually converted a basic subset of networking headers for AmigaOS4, but I never got around to testing them properly. I've now got downloading of HTTP files working quite well on AmigaOS4.

I wish I could say "I'll do it", but I can't. I don't have any idea where to start, and I'm trying to find a solution with networking already in it.
I like PortablE, but I think it fell on Networking, for me, last time too :/ At some point I might pay someone to code that up though :)

It has GUI & file handling (even the incomplete Windows version has file handling!), but does not have networking.
It would certainly be possible to convert C's networking headers to PortablE, but there are rather a lot of headers, and I've never done any network programming myself... I have actually converted a basic subset of networking headers for AmigaOS4, but I never got around to testing them properly. It may be possible to adapt those for AROS, but I wonder if OS4 using RoadShow (and AROS using something much older) might cause difficulties. In short, it should be possible for someone with motivation to add networking support themselves. I would certainly provide help, if someone wanted to try...

It's been a while since I looked into PortablE, but I've finally gotten a dedicated AROS laptop, so want to get started with application development.
I've looked at Ruby, but it's incomplete (Only base Ruby + MUI is supported from what I can tell). Does PortablE on AROS have: Networking, GUI, and Filehandling? I'm quite sure I remember it having the second two, but not networking last I checked.
