I think we need basically the net includes in order to compile net-apps.
API given, we could start to port many of classic net tools.
First driver coming to mind is serial/PPP, then Ethernet cards.

Please be patient. A TCP/IP stack will be ready someday. Anyway, TCP/IP itself isn't so useful if you haven't any Internet apps. But, posing a brick after another, I'm really confident we will be able to surf the net whithin AROS.

PS I got a note from the postman today, I can collect the books on Monday

UberPaint cool!

And even cooler!!! That was pretty fast shipping actually! The lady at the post office here told me 4-6 weeks.

Just noticing from the pics on www.aros.org, I would like to use that UberPaint program, since I'm a DPaint freak (hehe). I think that (if possibly legally) should come standard with the os. Well I suppose that's a bit premature having never used it myself, but it has to be better than M$Paint lol... Yeah I know M$Paint can do 24-bit BMP files, but have you ever seen someone make something that actually comes near 24-bit with M$Paint? Is it something I can download or is it hidden somewhere on the AROS boot cd?

Bernd.

And so say all of us.

When that TCP stack is finally complete I think access to the internet will quadrouple that amount of AROS users. I can see why people are holding back but I believe the key to future AROS development lies in it's access to the "outside world". Only then can it be taken seriously.

Development will increase. The number of platforms used will increase. The community will increase.

I can't wait.
