On my Core 2 Duo E8400 + nVidia 210 it slows down the system and I can see menu drawing on the screen. The speed of the emulation is good, but everything slows down.

First of all, thank you for patronizing Icaros Desktop. Your help is really appreciated.
Then, you shouldn't have the issues you mentioned. AFAIK VICE is running fine on Icaros 2.2 EEE and it should work several times faster than the original C64. Have you had any issue with former installations of Icaros? Things should go better, not worse. Have you changed anything in your configuration? What video mode are you using? on what PC?

Quote:
This does sound like some sort of install issue with either the new Icaros or on your specific install. To get the mouse back have another window running (e.g. the shell) and have a hotkey set in Fkey to change focus between windows (e.g. ctrl-tab). Then you just need to do this to get back your mouse. To adjust how the game pad works, open up Posieidon prefs. You should see your pad in the devices lst; double click on this to get to its settings window where you can configure exactly what happens for each of its buttons, joysticks etc. Cheers, Nigel.

Strange. I've not had a single problem you've mentioned. Not one.
Hatari has menus for configuration, Vice works at over %10000 speed (when set to warp mode), Mame works out of the box with joypads. RTFMs. :)

Many Emulator and Joystick configuration Problems. Icaros Desktop Easter Egg

I became an Icaros Desktop Patron.. so I could download the Easter Egg Edition of Icaros Desktop.
I tried the Emulators.. many of them have no configuration GUI and for example Hatari.. catches the Mouse and I don't know how to release the Mouse. MAME runs.. I tried R-Type.. but I can't configure Input at all.. Some help apreciated! I tried VICE and the C64 Emulator is so slow it's defeniteley no fun! How do I configure a USB Game Pad on Icaros Desktop? Sorry! ![]() |
