Does your ATI driver support the FireGL Mobility 7800? I have it in my IBM Thinkpad A31p, the probably most expandable Laptop ever: Two Ultrabay ports, two PCMCIA slots and a Dockingstation with two extra PCMCIA slots, another Ultrabay, a PCI card slot and a external floppy connector (for a real floppy, not USB). All components are working except full gfx support, and there's an Atheros 5000 series Mini-PCI-WLAN-card available, so there's inbuilt WLAN possible.

The gfx driver from 1.4.1 works nice, I have full resolution (1600x1200 on an 15" display), but there is the glitch with the white bar in the mouse pointer. Sometimes there are graphics errors, I think in the browser, so it is unreliable to use. VESA drivers are working better, but they're not not the best choice. Real working graphics and a full floppy support would make the A31p to the ideal AROS Laptop.

What about the ATI HD series?

I have a saphire x1600 pro and an lcd monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050.

with the new beta-driver 1680x1050 16-bits works fine, but I have problems with 1680x1050 24-bits. The screen is all messed up.

I hope you can look into this, or at least confirm that this mode doesn't work (yet).

If it based on X300 it should work... but I am not sure...

I have not released the updated driver, I will try to test the driver first a little better.
