I have installed Icaros Desktop to an Intel Project board - intel d945gsejt. It has an Atom N270 processor, 2 gig memory, 75 Gig HD, Intel GMA950 graphics and a Realtek 8111 NIC. I have 2 problems here. The first problem is the graphics mode. I have an older (LCD) monitor with a resolution of 1280x768. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why 1280x1024 is the default resolution, I have never seen a monitor with that resolution. Most monitors nowadays are HD-wide resolutions. Anyway, I cannot change to 1280x768 resolution as it goes directly into 1280x1024 which makes everything look wide on my monitor. I used ScreenMode and edited the grub config file to 1280x768, but to no avail. This also play havoc on OWB and causes the graphics to "bleed". Any suggestions?

Problem number 2. After a lot of guess work and reading, I got my NIC up with the rtl8169 driver. The rtl8168 driver caused the machine to not even boot and I had to re-install. This driver is extremely slow. I am having to wait 20-30 seconds for a small simple site and I can't even load speedtest.net, so it's impossible to figure out my throughput. Is there any word on any fixes for that yet?

I have been a computer geek since the late 70s when I got my Commadore VIC-20. Since then I have been infatuated with Operating Systems and have had my hands on the majority of them. I've never heard about Icaros until last week, so I tried it. Besides the graphics and NIC problem, I'm loving it. This has real potential to go big, but will need a good set of graphics and NIC drivers. (Those are most important I think) Thank you for all your work.
