afaik the original documentation of the used hardware is closed (only open to other hw developers).

Also there is a linux driver. There seems to be a lot of workarounds needed to let things work as intended.

Ofcourse this needs to be adapted to fit into AROS' usb implementation as well, but it wouldn't be a 'simple' one-on-one conversion. Especially the quirks are most probably a pita.

If I recall... Whoever did the RISCOS port for raspberry also found usb to be a bit of an issue. Don't have a clue if there's any source available or if it'd even be helpful to look at.

Good luck with the USB, I'm afraid I have no ability to assist with the USB... I might be able to help a bit with graphics acceleration though :-/

I will probably try and write a simple driver to allow access to the GPIO first :)

Yeah its kind of boring just now since you cant interact much with it ;)

Its possible to put stuff in the WBStartup folder and have it run once AROS boots, but that's mostly a novelty just now ;p

In theory someone could write a serial TCP/IP driver and have AROS interact with the outside world - but that's out of the scope of my intentions so I will focus on USB for now.

Exactly - I'm slowly getting the pieces of the USB driver put together currently. I'm not particularly familiar with USB so its a slow process while I learn how it all ties together - but I think I'm starting to get a grasp of it now.

So far I have code in place to (try) and initialise the USB chipset, and configure host/device mode operation (though AFAICT Poseidon doesn't support device mode). I've started to get the "virtual" root hub written for the single USB port so that Poseidon should at least list it correctly in the GUI - and try to interact with it to find peripherals.

I still need to check that the controller is correctly configured and running though, and then tackle the actual sending/receiving of data over the USB interface.
