Re: Advice please, should I call new IMICA the IMICA 500
#10
Personally I dont think any of them particularly roll off the tongue,.. all come across as forced (as does the name iMica itself, but probably too late to change it now ). Actually speaking of names, I've always been curious, was "iMica" deliberately a combination of "amiga" and "iMac" (only one letter difference with the latter, even shares the same capital "M"), or more of a subconscious influence of the iMac name while trying to come up with something that phoenetically resembles the name "amiga" ? For my tastes there's not much that can be done with the name that is particularly free flowing, but in my opinion something like a simple abreviation attached to iMica might flow best.... "sln" has a bit of poetic (for lack of a better word) ring to it for example.

You could call it Atom D Quingenti.

If you can't call it 500 using the standard decimal system, you can just use roman numerals and latin

IMICA Atom is the real name any way but I have two versions now, and this one is a bit special, specially in the fact that people are buying it

i could only associate the '500' with an a500 like wedge design myself.

So if the silent is == 500.... when will you be releasing the Imica 4000?

i guess most people associate the 500 with kick 1.x
an Aros machine should be IMICA 1200 because the kick 3.x

or as alternative take the number from processor's speed

just my 2 cent
personaly i would like a quote to the classic roots

This has been mentioned to me a number of times and I had considered this but I am worried about a backlash from the classic Amiga fans.

IMICA Silent is not a good name except for telling people it is silent.

What do you lot think, it would say this is the low end machine.
