So how much help does Zune need, is anyone working on this? Is Feelin in better shape?

What I really really long for is the ability (And I remember I just loved it on my A1200) to build custom menu's. Menu's that lanuched applications or whatever....and the possibility to dock icons on Wanderer. Amistart is great but since we don't know if newer version of it ever will come maybe it's time to give Wanderer that extra love.

PS. I also agree with deadwood. Wanderer *IS* kind of Aros.

Before any real and serious Wanderer improvement it should be enanched to offer from workbench.library the AppWindow/AppIcon/AppMenu APIs, and as conseguence, a proper implementation of MUIA_AppMessage into Zune.
You forget ALL d&d operations between applications and Wanderer without this, and even a good modern Dock.

I'm with deadwood on this one. Although wanderer needs quite some love...

Also while ambient might be gpl, the sources haven't been updated till somewhere 2005. I honestly don't see the MorphOS team doing such a thing anytime soon.

My personal opinion is that although Ambient is more advanced and complete than Wanderer, I still prefere the later. Wanderer is how users interact with AROS and it is "how AROS looks" and I feel strongly that it should be distinct from MorphOS or AmigaOS and have it's own identity.

We've talked many times about this, but every tie we stumble upon these issues:

1. a practical one: Ambient needs more advanced MUI functions than Zune provides ---> we should update Zune first and nobody ssems interested in doing that

2. a licensing one: Ambient has been released under the terms of the GPL, which is incompatible with the APL. Since Ambient would be an important part of the OS, it wouldn't be nice. ---> Ambient should be released under the APL, or AROS under the GPL, and both them are unlikely to happen

(notice: this wouldn't prevent me or other distributors to add Ambient to AROS)

3. a political one: and what should we do with Wanderer? What should people that are working on it do? Forget everything? naaaah... ;)
