Some googling reveals that there seems to be an OS4 drivere available:
LINK Maybe the author would be 'persuadable' to port it to AROS (for the bounty money of course) :)

Would be a very nice driver to have indeed ... especially since qemu also can use es137x audio xD
I would probably just call it "ES137x AHI Audio Driver" Bounty and have the bounty description state that it must be working on vmaware, qemu and real hardware.

Sound support for AROS under VMware.
It should be achieved porting/creating a proper ES137x driver for AHI. This would be good also for any motherboard or virtual machine that emulates this sound chip family too.
