Running the emulator on startup however might not be a good idea (depending on your hardware, as it is very demanding), but letting it start whenever you want to should.

afaik there is no difference in starting an adf with the emulator or any other file(type) for that matter. Just take a look at the iconx-scripts behind those adf game icons.

Ofcourse making it easy (click-n-run) requires some work and indept knowledge on how things are able to run.

For an enduser it might be obvious f.e. that a Cinema4D file can't be opened by (native) aros, so that it should automatically startup the emulator (then indirectly starting cinnema4d and feeding the file from AROS), but doing it programmatically is a different ballgame that has a lot of hurdles.

Just trying to do something like that with some simple scripting (and letting it work in every situation with meaningfull output in case things go wrong) is a hideous task.

In the end i believe something like a real 68k virtualization platform (like moggen's emumiga) to be the better answer.

Yes with Emumiga or with qemu user-mode emulation. In both cases it could be possible to use native libraries making classic apps more appealing.

I mean, a user should be able to open for example a MOD song with a 68k amiga app (eagleplayer for example).

Are right-click menus working now in coherency mode? (AROS68k)
