A500s are classic it was my first amiga as with most people
in a club i used to frequent i only ever knew of 1 single A1000
and later when the 2000/1500 was out they couldnt shift them nobdy could

Its a good point about the Athlon, I would use Mini-ITX motherboard like the one in iMica, generates little heat and runs nicely.

And of course it is smaller.

Now theres an idea for next iMica A500

i admire the enthusiasm but athlon cpu with a large heat sink and all thet heat might be a bad idea "THINKS melted mess on desktop when return from work" theres ways yes i agree
my solution was to use an old A2000 case dont knock me they
aint that rare a500's and spectrums are on ebay lol
and the board does have a fault and may end up being sold
as faulty
brings somthin amiga back to life imo as aros does
and makes a few spare for other 2000 owners to boot

This is really funny, I spent years making A500 professional with the Checkmate Digital A1500 system to compete with PC's and now we just swallow one.

Cannot wait to see Icaros running on it with the new Janus-Uae, very cool.

Where is my A1200 and hacksaw.

What about the cooling? How hot does it gets?
I was thinking on something similar, but using an old Armada E500 notebook with cracked LCD. Don't have a clue about what to do with the keyboard doe.

Oh, this brings back memories of fighting to upgrade my old A500. Hope this works out nicely with AROS. :cheers:

I will update the project later, when I have done more on the project.

Next I will try to fix the cooler to CPU, and cosmetic stuff.

All I can say is that if somebody does that to a working A1000 I will go round and shoot them.
