iMica Dual Booting Ubuntu and Windows now.

Well I found out the reason why I could not boot any Linux versions on iMica now. In early builds of Aros say after 0.8 (cool release that one) and before Icaros 1.1.1 or there abouts I had always needed to set the Sata drive to legacy to get Aros to run and install. Now this was ok with Windows 7 which I tried but obviously Linux did not like it.

So thanks to a comment from Paolo pointing out that may be cured and now that Aros kernal is now happy I have reset iMica (intel Atom) board to defaults and all OS's are happy.

I currently have Icaros 1.1.2, Ubuntu 9.04 and Windows 7 all happily coexisting. However, I intend shipping all iMica systems with the Ubuntu OS installed to allow for High definition movies, and Firefox access for times you need it which is becoming less and less now.

Also as some of you are aware, one of my products back when the dinosaurs roamed the aearth was the (now not a good name) Siamese System. I will be expending a lot of effort in confirguring future iMica system that can run as much software from as many platforms as possible. Dosbox is really cool here but there are other ways and ideas coming.

My Main aim is, Aros apps, Amiga 68k apps, Linux apps and Windows too.

All the best and happy geeking.

Steve
