OWB uses SDL, ain't it?
Which other ones?

I noticed that, often, opening more than 1 SDL application crashes AROS.

So I had the Origyn Browser running some offline html pages yesterday, and I have to say, I am quite impressed.
Not just the browser, but my whole "User Experience". I was listening to MP3s with MPlayer, used the Browser for reading some Tutorials, coded something in Edit, compiled stuff in the Aros Shell. I could do almost all of my usual home routine just within Aros. Some stuff felt a little bit cumbersome, and the occasional crash is lurking almost everywhere, but i really felt it's "getting there"...I felt a lot relieved after putting ClickToFront in my user startup sequence.. Maybe not that Amiga-ish feeling anymore, but so much more comfortable for me...Looking forward to being able to click on Files, and the Browser displaying them in the next Ikaros update, Paolone... ;) I noticed that using OWB for reading offline Zune tutorials taken from aros.sourceforge inflicted the hardest crashes of Aros i have seen so far. As soon as the Html loaded, my computer restarted (! :/). Also, I wrote a test html site with some CSS Styles, which worked very well, but when I tried do "download" a local file through an "a href" the system crashed. Fortunately Aros doesn't take long time to boot up, else I would have gone mad by now ![]() Anyway, thumbs up, its getting better and better every day right now.

Congratulations. For the very first time the game I've been involved with developing for the past few years is actually accessible from an Amiga-world browser (I guess this is more due to OWB rather than the AROS version per se, but since I can't test the other versions...)
![]() A few minor niggles (not visible in the screenshot) such as a javascript popup not opening a lot further right than it was meant to and child windows opening in new tabs by default, but nothing crippling. Not sure if any of these things are specific to the Zune version of OWB or just OWB in general. Anyway, well done to all concerned. (P.S. Ignore the missing OWB icons - that's just me being too lazy to figure out what's wrong! :vik1: )

@Paolone:
1) Seems I am really spoiled by using Browsers on Windows and Mac OS X, I think I have never used the three slash notation for browsing offline, just "open" in the menubar, or clicking on the html file directly.. 2) ![]()

Quote:
1. you have to load the manually in the url field using three shalsh, like on every other browser/os. Or in the OWB command line casting: owb file:///path:to/file.html I've made a little workaround in the form of a PoorX script that almost fix the issue, it will debut in Icaros 1.1. 2. that one was actually me... ![]()

I had OWB running on my AROS machine at home yesterday. Seems to work fine, but can it be, that at the current state it cannot read offline html files?
There seems no way to open and display html files. I even tried changing the "tool" parameter inside the information settings of a html-file, putting owb inside. When I click on that icon, OWB opens up, but doesn't display anything. Since I don't have Internet access at home currently, I couldn't really try out OWB, but so far it looks good ...small edit/addendum: I see someone has already opened a ticket/request for offline browsing on Stanislaws OWB page..

Same here! The fact that it works in OS4 OWB, does that mean it is an AROS OWB bug that could be fixed!
Could someone post a ticket at OWB AROS sandlabs bugtracker??

It runs up until the main logo on the black background then reboots computer. Good up to that point though. Both native NVidia and Vesa.
