maybe you need gallium.hidd as well as softpipe.hidd.
i remember i had to loadresource these hidds on m68k, i guess not anymore today.

@dizzy

i found some model, renamed it minion and it got loaded, but the display looks completely messed up with polygons, like hacked 3d-studio old days.

btw tests should go into Developer/Debug/Tests ;)

Here's a simple tiny cube that fits on the view

The projection is very bad with this stlview, it's not even taken into account how big the model is. When I played with it I had tiny Minion models to play with.

Press the lowest button to get into a file requester to choose some other file

Thanks. Unfortunately this doesn't work with v0 mingw hosted. First it needs gallium.hidd, then the stdcio error.

Oh... mingw
I think this stuff depends heavily on x11 if on hosted, had to log on in this Fedora 28 with XOrg selected (Not Wayland)

Yep, I'm trying to do this on Windows. So there's no hope even for softpipe on Windows? Drats. I have CentOS with AROS hosted in a VM, but then I might as well boot up the native version.

See my previous message. I added gallium.hidd as well, and that lead me to the stdcio.library error.

Hello,

Been while when last tried to mess with the gl-stuff so I got intrigued.

Updated the STLView to compile again (https://www.dropbox.com/s/oc7b7wzekhe43mv/stlview.tar.xz?dl=0)

For some reason I had to change pglMapBuffer and pglUnmapBuffer proc pointer to void, but seems to compile, but I had no output on the MUI surface. (Running on Linux hosted)

Had to write this line "module Devs/Drivers/softpipe.hidd" to AROSBootstrap.conf to get the softpipe up.

I tried adding "module Devs/Drivers/softpipe.hidd", and then gallium.hidd when I got an error about it. Now I'm getting this error in the log:
Quote:
Boot Task: Could not open version 0 or higher of library "stdcio.library".

I tried adding this one too, but that lead to another error about v36 or higher dos.library, and I'm stuck there.

I've only tested this on Hosted AROS ABIv1 and years ago on native. The mui class should be linked with stdc.static already... All of it's code is for grabs if it's of any use for anyone.

This is my AROSBootstrap.conf: (Is the ordering important?)

compiled it for i386 and m68k.
the makefile in tests needs some update (include line at the beginning and nowarn flags for m68k):
Quote:

# $Id: mmakefile.src 46836 2013-03-08 13:33:46Z jmcmullan $
include $(SRCDIR)/config/aros.cfg

NOWARN_FLAGS := $(NOWARN_VOLATILE_REGISTER_VAR)
USER_CFLAGS := $(NOWARN_FLAGS)

#MM- workbench-classes-zune-stlview : workbench-classes-zune-stlview-test

TEST_EXE := STLView_test
TEST_EXEDIR := $(AROSDIR)/Tests
TEST_FILES := stlview_test

%build_prog mmake=workbench-classes-zune-stlview-test \
progname=$(TEST_EXE) targetdir=$(TEST_EXEDIR) files=$(TEST_FILES)

%common
%include_deps

still dont know how to test it.

Run the test program which uses the mui class. It should be at Tests directory at the root of AROS.

By default I think it tries to open minion.stl file. Scaling is very bad as are the perspectives and planes etc if the model gets too big
