Hi Coolcat,
AROS works brilliantly with 'Egalax' type USB 4-wire resistive touchscreens via the wonder of poseidon. I'm using one daily on my homebrew PicoITX UMPC and it works better than under Windows. I've been promising this for a while, but I will get a video up on YouTube to show how good it is in the next couple of weeks.

I'm glad to announce that the "Touch Pad Usability Enhancements" bounty (formerly Easy Touch Pad) has been opened, and is ready to be taken.

ps: just a sidenote, as its OT. TOUCH (screen) is getting quite popular. dunno how much of "tablet" could be used, but im really thinking of a hp pavillon as my next box (im not decided yet). and now out curiosity "are all touchpad the same?" i mean, once we get support for one, will it support all, or have many variations?

I have been proposing this way of facilitating the use of the touch pad for a while, and since I see that more and more people are using AROS on their Aspire One, I decided to start this bounty.

Not sure on how it works. I guess a simple donation to Power2People with the bounty description would be enough.


Bounty title: "Easy Touch Pad" bounty
Description:

Implementation of the option to activate the menu bar using a double click approach with the right mouse button.

First click: menu bar is activated and stay active when button released, with the menus showing up when highlighted by the pointer.
Second click: to activate any menu entry or deactivate the menu bar to its normal status.

Implementation of the same double click approach for the Left Mouse Button as alternative option.

The menu bar will be activated by a simple left click or tap only when the cursor is above the menu bar.
Second click of the same button to activate any menu entry or deactivate the menu bar to its normal status.


These two options should be made available either through a commodity to be launched from the commodities drawer,
or through two options to be selected in the system preferences.
