Here's some Broadcom programmers manualshttp://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/open_source.php
If looking for open source driver then look what bsd has to offer.

Talking about drivers a more needed bounty is to enhance the HDAudio driver , modifying and use some ideas/code from ALSA drivers , to make sure the cards are automatically recognised and working ok.

look into a void driver (a boilerplate?)
and an open source license friendly driver and i would say you have a start! :)
good luck!

Hey it's just a wishlist, not a make-sure-it-can-be-done-first list :P

You've got me there

I know about the OWB thing, I just figured I'd put it in the wishlist with my other wish. lol

Wasn't sure, so though i mentioned it

As for the Broadcom thing, they're very common cards, having at least basic drivers would kick ass, as it opens up a lot more old laptops to be used as dedicated boxes.

True, as goes for a lot of other hardware out there as well.

Aros development really lack the manpower to be able to supply the demand :/

As such other priorities take the upper hand in such matters.

Since that topic (people asking/complaining) about a driver for their specific hardware seems a returning issue, i just mentioned it to make sure that message get accross. No harm in a wish list

I really do wish I could code drivers, but not being a C dev, and having no systems development experience, I don't think tackling a driver would be a good first step :P

I also don't think that's a good idea.

But, if you think you are capable, then i would say give it a shot (i've seen stranger things happen in this world ).

I agree with coolcat, I'd rather have html5 than flash.

Also, I've reconsidered about C coding. I might take a stab at driver development if I can find sources for learning and someone to bug when I bork things.

imho, html5+jquery+css3 is a defacto standard for modern browsers (fuck silverlight and flash) :)

Have a look here

Problem atm is there is no developer available that currently has the time to get the latest enhancements over to aros. The original bounty thread on this board made that clear.

The broadcom thing might be too specific (i have two machines with them as well), and might not gain much interest as it requires a developer to have the exact same hardware to be able to work on the nitty gritty details.

In that regards the gain towards community is not that big. As an example I personally would love to see (existing) video drivers getting updated as that would serve more people.

Nevertheless, i agree with you that an update of owb as well as having broadcom drivers would be nice to have.
