@Kalamatee

I never thought you where doing wrong on Wanderer, AFAIK the plan for Wanderer is still copying the AOS3.x Workbench as much as possible and beeing stable.

Even if you would reach this goal, there are still be ways to improve Wanderer. If have mentioned some, we had tools like Birdy on AOS3.x some where good some where buggy but the goal for a GUI like Wanderer should always be:
Make thing easy,
make things configurable,
use less mouse clicks,
avoid the need for additioanl programs.

The old AOS3.x workbench was not perfect, a lot of things could be done under newer system with less mouse clicks. If Wanderer could learn from other ideas, do it, that doesn't mean you will have a Start Button for Shutdown.

BTW.:
There is a reason why I posted this in the Bounty section.
There are a lot of small improvements I would like on AROS, some are about the filemanager section of Wanderer, other are because I'm missing copy & paste on CLI other because the the filesystem might use some expansions into the direction of 64bit, caching, NTFS support or other expansions. I'm not writing this to blame the developers, I'm writing this because I'm searching for solutions.

The "Topic" isnt being dismissed as rubbish - some of the comments however are ;)

People have a tendancy on here to just make noise (the things they post are either incorrect - or just down right fabrications) - and tbh its gotten worse over the last 3 years.

As I have said, I do not like using dopus. So I wish that progress on Wanderer was a little quicker, in a no schedule and rockin way, of course. End of complaint.

So would I - but sadly I only have limited time to work on it myself, and no one else wants to help/contribute (and by contribute I mean help towards a common goal, not do their own conflicting thing's)

Im currently rewriting ~80% of the code which is very time consuming because the behaviour of the internal classes is being changed to make it considerably more flexable. (see

Maybe soon I can stop using dopus and start using Scalos. I have not tried Scalos, but from the screenshots, it looks more modern and hopefully less quirky than dopus.

I used ScalOS long ago but have no interest in it personally - if people want to use it, then each to their own ;)

Dream mode on. It would be cool if Scalos was open sourced and made to work seamlessly with Wanderer.

Not really an option imho since they both want to achieve the same thing in their own ways.

Oops, sorry about that.

Most of the long time AROS users know that you continually working on Wanderer with some well deserved pauses.
Thanks!

Btw., I'm missing your website with the status of your Wanderer improvements. Have you deleted it? Is it elsewhere to find?

I still think people have a right to complain about Wanderer. I also don't think it can reprecent a OS in a good way they way it is today.
I still appreciate all you have done so far and looking forward to future results.

Please dont confuse people complaining about wanderer with people just talking rubbish so they have something to say.

Right, for workbench.library I have only added some missing defines/structs.

The place which required the most fixes is dos.library.

Using Snapshot->All will make it save settings of a Window, so you can have it show all files, etc. if you chose to. This can be done individually per window for any path (ie. a mix of however you like it, not just either/or). As for opening a shell at the path of the currently active window, this is actually the default behaviour and has been for years.

Makes you wonder if they even bother trying or just assume ;)
