Thanks, now if could get device also ported. Does anybody know if gutenprint has ipp support build in or can we use gutenprint as our "driver" interface to produce output file and this ipp.device as our printer spooler for gutenprint output?

gutenprint doesn't care how the data gets to the printer. It works like this.

Printer.device --> gutenprint --> output device*

*Output device can be along these lines.

Serial.device, Parallel.device, usbparallel.device, ipp.device, lpr.device, ftp

like so. Don't get your hopes up yet ;D

I have done a quick port, not done any tests and looks ok by running test executables...

I have done little changes in cups/ to compile..

What needs to be done now!!
-------------------------
ipp_dev/ folder is to build amiga .device and i have not done this before so i leave this bit to someone else to port (68k/os4 is included in this archive) lpr.device for aros.

I will add missing function getpass(prompt) from usersys.c when lpr.device compiled..

Does anybody has Amiga source of somekind of device which I could study and maybe do some coding?

Is it nowadays possible to use c++ for system coding in AROS?

Interesting look about cups and ipp, seehttp://osr600doc.sco.com/en/PR_cups/ipp.html and chapter 3. Besides direct IPP you can also use http :) So should not be too hard to talk to the cups.

Browsed some more:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms817904.aspx

So to me it should be doable someone who knows how to interface networking in C.

Yes it does intrest me but what i proposed is needed to that also as programs on amiga side need printer device to interface to cups which uses ipp as communication channel.
If you implement that device first, you can print local cups instance (to be ported later) and any linux/mac network printer!
