Thanks for the feedback. I agree that things look to be moving slow this summer I think it might be due to the things being done are larger in scale than last summer. People have lives, jobs and such. I still look foward to all the things that appear to be "right on the edge" of being done. Later ya'll.

hey, we must remember we got some ports from jac (dosbox, scummvm, xrick etc), we got a new build "function" that fetch and patch the source, very good things on the dev env (looks like now we only miss the pdksh , that need signaling and job (process) management into our libc (i think)...)some affs fixes, some clean up (on the source tree and on the iso tree), lot of neat things on wanderer (i still would like to see a auto-update after window resize) and some initial things not working yet (like amp2, amide and so on)...have a native sound was great, and i know Marcus is working on a trident driver for aos4 (i hope we get those sources), i do miss fat32 and the TCP/IP, but saw other devs who want to port his apps (a cd burner, a midi app). we got lots of sdl libs and lots of gnu utils...still miss the c++ support on the build system but i think we do have a very good boost on the overall POV. (i still wait for a new bounty system/page) ...ah, and we got a really neat wiki! =o)

Regards for all, and long live for the no schedule and rocking ... -=<A*R*O*S>=-

PS: well, have the nightly build back would be really good.

PS2: for all the aros devs (and community) i really appreciate this place on the net.

PS3: i dint saw talk on the ppc-linux port, but i do belive it still going.

PS4: ow, and we got a sdl player with audio enable!

Hey back at you =)

Im gonna have to dissapoint you a bit now im afraid.

There WILL be a news update on aros.org soon with the most important happenings lately but they wont be all great as:

(TCP) Weez who is supposed to do this port has vanished for weeks now and we have no idea what the status of this is as of now.

Well, wez is still tinkering away last i spoke to him, but yes, he is about to move to the US of A so things are a bit hectic for him right now - though he assures us that his new job means more time for AROS - which cant be a bad thing ;)

As for the new installer Nicja has commited some of his work to the CVS on this one but its not finished yet and i belive he is a bit stuck on a few things (feel free to add some info her nic)

Yeah, its more not finding time between the plethora of things im working on, and making money

Things are looking a little quieter this week so maybe i can drag myself back to it

(Fat32) is comming along but a bit slow as Adam has got stuck with school again.

So as you see not everything is as good as we hoped for this summer (this summer was also a bit of a let down for me personally as there was less code work going on then whats usual in the summer time! but its not all negativity we do have _several_ native sound drivers now + the new ATA device and more things comming if things go well :).

Hey all. Just wanted to take a moment after reading a lot of the posts recently. Things are looking interesting. New GUI classes, sound drives, sound in SDL apps. Great stuff! I can't wait for the next update!! Unless something goes all crazy it, looks like we are close to getting, if not already have:

TCP/IP
FAT support (FAT16/32?)
A new installer that will hopefully allow easy installs on mutliboot systems.
New ATA Device with performance improvements (never a bad thing)

Exciting isn't it?

P.S. We, the AROS community, have not seen any update in months. Would someone please take pity on us? How are things going? What is close to being done? Anything interesting in the lives of the devs we know and care so much for? Anything!!
