It must be a bug with qemu and the Matrox G550. If it´s the Matrox driver or qemu, I don´t know. Yesterday, I tried qemu with Aros on a Pentium M 1,4 GHz laptop with geforce4 mx, no problem, I also tried it on a XP2600+ with Ati Radeon 9200, no problem. But if I want to run it on a G550 -> boom !!

I can´t make it work. The problem must be my hardware, I think. I use a XP2200+,640 MB,KT333 with Matrox G550 card.

Aros boots fine until I have to select a screenmode. After selection I only see a blank black screen. When I use -std-vga
the blank screen goes away, but now I have a black screen with some corrupted graphics at the top of the screen. I guess I have to wait for another version.

Yeah PPC emu is early. I haven't had any chance / reason to try it yet though. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has it running under emulation in Windows. Now if I could only get it to install to the hard disk file...

I am also using 0.6 on Windows. Here is the command from my .bat:

START qemu.exe -L . -m 128 -boot d -hda AROS.img -cdrom AROS.iso -enable-audio

AROS.img is a 1gig hard disk file that I as of yet have not been able to install to. I keep getting errors trying to write to the drive.

I probably don't need the enable audio in there but I just copied the script that I used for my Win98SE install on QEmu so I didn't change much.

When I run the .bat, I select 800x600X16 from GRUB. About 3 seconds later I am up and running in Wanderer. I have used 1024x768, but that was taking up a huge portion of the screen.

Hope that helps!

How did you get it to work ? Which command line options do you use ? I´m using qemu 0.6 for windows and it doesn´t work. It boots Aros, but after I select a screenmode it seems to stop working, there is just a blank black screen. Any suggestions ?

Just tried the latest (21st) nightly .ISO....Works wonderfully. Booted right up without so much as a peep from QEmu. Decided to give it a try when I saw the fix for the atapi device was in...posted there right away too when it worked! I hope more people will be willing to give AROS a run now that they don't even need to shut down their PC to launch the ISO.
