OS-X hosted is being worked on currently. It's still open to donations, btw.

@Senex

Ah, the "Reality Check" Ya, I know... But, not matter how it comes out. This is really good for Aros and in the end I think that is what is most important to the people on this borad.

Calm down. First aim is and has to be the LinuxPPC-hosted version. Once AROS can offer the needed functionality for our STB software, etc., we will see. But please do understand that this is a really long-term aim.

Raising your hopes too high will just lead to disappointment. And especially it puts the things out of perspective: all the big successes of the developers on the long and arduous way to an "AROS 1.0" would appear small if you always compare it with the giant goal far away.

Besides, please be aware of this advantage of the hosted version: remember this is about an STB. A high-end one with some basic homecomputing functionality, but still an STB. Now imagine a customer messing around with the OS in a way that his daughter wouldn't be able to record her favourite soap opera... Fatal if the STB would be AROS-native, i.e. AROS-only. In our case, however, he might trash the AROS installation in the worst case - but the main STB functionality, running under Linux, wouldn't be effected.

@bloodline

As far as I've understood Markus, yes. For those not on the devlist: he told us that he has solved the stub code issue, but "there are a lot of vararg issues left and maybe some, yet, unknown things. I.e. LPH starts to execute the startup-sequence but does not complete successfully."

Am I right in thinking that the only think holding up PPC Linux hosted is the varargs issue, right?
