Well I suppose something like a FAQ or list of known compatible hardware would be good. As time goes on, however some of the information could get outdated because of advancements in AROS. But on the other hand we now know people who have an IBM 6862 machine can rest assured that AROS will run Actually I was so busy yesterday that I didn't get much of a chance to test any other machines. I was just thinking I could do this at least until I move out of where I am now, since this place really restricts me (space-wise) from doing anything useful with another computer

Um.....not sure where to go with this one, except to ask...is there going to be an official list of AROS testers? I work as a software tester, but there isn't much difference....testing is testing. Every couple months I download one of the daily build of AROS and burn/boot it on my system here. Anybody thinking of having a list of supported hardware? Is there going to be a formal set of test cases that must pass to be included as fully working?

(Yay! My first post on AROS-EXEC!)

The Black troll "Edge" machine is, I suppose, the first offically supported example of AROS hardware.

Kneel down, my son.

I take this valiant sword and dub thee "Official AROS Hardware Tester".

Venture forth and aquire all knowledge of what hardware works, and whoa, what shant.

For verily I say unto you, your place in AROS lore will be most high among the minions.

Hi

I figured out a way I could possibly help with AROS. Since I work at a computer store that takes many machines in for service I could run my AROS boot disk on many different configurations and let you know what hardware seems to work and what seems not to. Today I had a chance to test the disk on an IBM PC-300 PL (6862-ACU) P3-550 128MB Ram, Intel BX Chipset with S3 Trio 3D video. AROS ran just great on it, and the VESA video modes worked fine with that video chipset.

Hopefully others can post here some configurations or motherboards that do or do not work.

Let me know if this is necessary or if I should try to look for something specific to try it on.

-Jamie
