Hehe... I hate X too - I mean - the idea of X is pretty stupid and useless novadays (although there are UNIX talibs, who think X is the most wonderful thing in the world...) Anyway - there's a project to remove X server from Linux and make it more like sane gfx API. But that is a huge, huge, huge project, and considering that AROS hardly has support, it is next to impossible to make AROS X replacement.
Anyway - that comes always to the same point - can you name any clean, elegant and wise UNIX concept?

here we go.
i dont like the x system of linux. maybe there are more like me. wanderer still miss features. my ideia was port wanderer for linux, so it could be a window manager, without X. dunno how to make x calls became intuition ones. but the ideia was port wanderer so it could run linux apps and maybe we could reach some linux developers to also work on wanderer (for those who thinks x-server is bloated) and than backport the code into aros. is this make any sense? if dont blame on marijuana! =op what would we need? wanderer, workbench.library, icon.library and custom intuition.library...is that right? anyway, aros-exec was too idle! :rasta: ***EDITED**** amiwm , amigem.lha and zune show thera are some interest of has amiga look'n'feel under linux |
