Sorry I was only joking on the 250 for 3 hours. And to be fair, where did you get that figure from anyway. Most coders in Aros area would work for ?50-100 per day, most in there hobby time, if you can find one with spare time. On USB, I misread that, sorry.

@steve
I am not saying 250 Euros is 3 hours worth for me, I just think that a developer deserves/earns minimum 70-80 Euros per hour. Therefore the amount mentioned is more of a little "Thankyou", rather than proper wages. BTW it is not about USB Sound, it is about USB (not working here under AROS/Dell Latidude) AND Sound. I guess, I contact Davy about Sound issue, he already did a great job on audiojack sensing for my AAO D150... greetings gerograph

I think you should set up bounties with your initial amounts and try and get other to add money. Oh and damm, 250 is 3 hours work for you, then you can afford much more ![]() To be fair remember that for developers it is not all about money, sometimes support with hardware, sometime a challenge, sometimes money, and sometimes just because they like you. Driver development is different though and usually requires a certain kind of developer which are rare on Aros. I think the USB sound could be done by Davy if a reasonable sum was supplied.

@fishX
would you pay into a bounty ? Do you think USB and Sound support for the mentioned chipsets/notebook is needed by more than one person ? Do you think you will also benefit directly ? Are you more interested in Sound or USB ? Well, I think setting up a bounty is worth it, if we can gather a few more people in this thread. @steve sure, the amount I am willing to pay is of course far from the amount somebody should earn for this work. 250 Euros covers max. 3 hours of work.... I know. But on the other hand investing 250 Euros in AROS is still worth it I think. But if I spent money, I need a benefit. That is the reason, I donnot invest into bounties I don't have a use for. greetings gerograph

@DizzyOfCRN
no, I did not try HDAudio from nightly build, plus I did not dig deeper into Audio Issue yet, I know, that I can still try setting QUERY, and entering Vendor ID etc. into hdaudio.config (was it hdaudio.config.. ?, I already had audioproblems with AAO D150 which were solved with help of Davy W. About USB: In my case, pluging or unpluging anything (incl. USB Stick) doesn't make other devices functional !

Hi,
Have you tried HDAudio from a nightly or from Icaros or such? HD Audio (0x8086 / 0x3b56) is listed in hdaudio.conf, try to remove QUERY from beginning of the conf file if it exist in there and see if that helps. There's something pretty minor in fault in USB as I don't have mouse either if I don't plug and unplug a USB flash drive in Aros. Or it may be the usbromstartup... For some reason Poseidon don't scan for the devices on itself but needs awakening in the form of portchange or such... I don't see ahci.device coming to Aros in the near future, but I hope I'm wrong

Hi everybody,
after trying AROS on my old Gericom and my Acer Aspire D150, I have to say it is really enjoyable... I tried several more netbooks and notebooks as well.... Anyway, I decided to replace my old Gericom with a Dell Latitude 6410. Unfortunally it is not working completly, some bits and pieces are missing, and I offer a little bit of money to change that: Most important: 1) USB doesn't work properly (e.g. mouse only works, if plugged into a hub, USB booting only works to a ceratain point....) Serial USB EHCI - Intel 5 Series/3400 Dell 0x040a Vendor: 0x8086 >Productno.: 0x3b3c 2) Sound, doesn't work Multimedia Audio 5 Series/3400 Series HD Audio (0x8086 / 0x3b56) or nVidia HD Audio Controller 0x10de/0x0be3 Why does my notebook use two different Audio systems ? Nice to have: 3) Support for nVidia GT218 (NVS 3100M) (0x10de / 0x0a6c) 4) SATA support 5 Series/3400 I would offer 50 ? for sound, and a 100? for USB. 3) and 4) or one of them up to 100 ?... How does that sound ? So, is this the right place to contact the people in charge of USB, SATA and nVidia drivers ? Might a bounty be more useful ? contact me here or via pm under birkenfeld at geobiz.de greetings gerograph
