If not mistaken than theoretically you might get away with things _if_ you are able to boot aros and delete the ahci.device driver entry from grub. Might be worth a shot ?

Problems installing Icaros Desktop in AHCI Hard Disk Mode (IDE Mode works)

When I switched my Hard Disk Settings in BIOS to AHCI my Icaros Desktop install still did boot when I tried.. So I decided to install Windows 10 in AHCI Mode... that was the beginning of a big mess hahaha..
I thought when Icaros Desktop still boots when Harddisk is switched to AHCI Mode then it works.. but WRONG! In AHCI Mode it boots, but when it's booted you can't access Files.. so I decided.. let's do a complete reinstall in AHCI Mode maybe it works!

First Try:

I booted the DVD and wanted to install over the Icaros Desktop Installation.. the Installer recognizes that Hard Disk is in AHCI Mode and shows up the "ahci.device".. first everything went ok.. it copied some files but then an error occured and it said it couldn't copy all "Locale" files!

I rebooted!

2nd try!

I rebooted the Icaros Desktop DVD and then it prompted me with a shell Window showing a "1>" Prompt!

3rd try

I wiped the AROS Partition and booted the Icaros Destop DVD and this time Icaros Desktop refused to boot at all showing me the "cats eyes" Screen saying please insert boot media.

Now I have a AHCI Windows 10 Install and no working Icaros Desktop Install... I don't want to complain.. it's my own fault.. I have to reinstall Windows 10 in IDE Mode and Icaros Desktop in IDE Mode..just wanted to mention that working with AHCI Mode led me to a mess according Icaros Desktop2

Anyway. that's half so wild as we say in Germany.. I have to do a complete reinstall from scratch in IDE Mode!

Just wanted to inform you about that!
