Hi daverising,

and a very welcome to these forums

First issue (emulating amiga) is not really my cup of tea, but yes in theory that is possible, by setting up your own HD file.

For the second issue, i would suggest clicking on the link named "workarounds" in my sig.

Also make sure you have the boot order in order, first you want to boot off your cd-rom (when booting from cd), or USB (if booting from USB), so the harddisk should come last.

If that all is not working, you also could try to boot into the early bootmenu (press space directly when grub boots from a selected menu item). In that menu (usb mouse needs re-insertion) there is an option to select form which device AROS should boot. Select the right item and see if that helps. If it does help there's a better (more permanent) solution (so in case it works, please report back)

Amiga 68k installer files and Gigabyte motherboard question

Ok, first post, here are two problems I have. First, I have got some shareware/public domain games from Archive.org and I noticed that some of them have install files that I need to use to work. Is there any way to install an Amiga program using AamiBridge? I would use wanderer (if that works) but it goes super slow since I'm booting from a USB 2.0 drive.

Second, are Gigabyte Motherboards not supported? I tried booting from the CD and USB drive, but it either gives me errors, or says it's waiting for bootable media. GRUB seems to work, it's just the OS or maybe BIOS that isn't working. I have tried disconnecting the HDD's in my computer to no avail. before I did, I got a Read Error -6, and I assume that it was trying to boot from the HDD, because when I unplugged them, I just got a Waiting for bootable media screen. I heard Ubuntu drives have a hard time on Gigabyte Motherboards, so I thought that even though Icaros is AROS it's a problem with the BIOS. BTW I have tested it with another computer and it does work on that one.

Any Help on either or both?
