Ok in easy language..
The pi is slow and has not enough RAM.
The VIA thing is better because it has more RAM but still an outdated CPU.

Important to understand:
1080p decoding and so on is not handled by the CPU but by special dedicated chips.

As soon a application needs CPU you will realize how slow und unusable it will be.

The A8 like used in the Efika is usable with Office and Browsing.

Everything above is better.

Personally i would not recommend a ARM11 based system.
A8 cortes with NEON is way better.
A9 is ways better than A8
And A15 blows you mind : )

Neon is something like altivec which the ARM11 misses.
