I've choose correct device for music and other units. After saving AHI preferences with correct settings Janus-UAE started emulation and booted AmigaOS as expected.

that is still not telling me how you fixed it

i tried downloading janus-uae i was able to get the newly downloaded one to work but have 2 pointers on screen ... still not able to get the one that come with Icaros Desktop
to work.. you say you fixed it with AHI prefs so what did you need to set in AHI prefs ? to fix it

Sound is one of the source code parts in j-uae, I never really touched, I guess. I took what I could find in other uaes and compiled it. Never even tried it myself, but I got reports, that it works at least sometimes .

If AHI can't be opened, it seems to fall back to "plain old audio.device", at least according to the source comments.

Maybe this is, where everything goes wrong.

FYI, I had a similar report on Facebook page, and it's been resolved by selecting a different AmiBridge profile (look at the manual) and then revert to the old one.

That's a useful tip to remember (who'd have though an incorrectly configured AHI could bork Janus?) Thanks for letting us know.

After many tries and re installations i found out cause of this strange problem. I didn't change any settings in AHI prefs. After setting correct mode for music and other units Janus-UAE starts every single time.

Still grey screen/window (no disk animation) with simple configuration (kick3.1/020/aga) first test without any disk, second with adf game inserted in df0.

Strange, after sending break signal from scout to janus-uae task grey screen changed to black and 3 seconds later animation with floppy disk showed up.

The 68k configuration from the AmigaForever distribution may need some tweaking to work with Janus. Have you tried starting in windows mode rather than full screen to see if it can at least get the 68k system booted? Another thing to try is to start up Janus without any drives selected to check the emulation shows the 'insert boot disk' animation - that would confirm Janus is working.
