XOSL probably won't work on its own. Even if it understands AROS partition tables (which I think is unlikely),it would need to hide other AROS distros' boot partitions from dos.library (which would again involve understanding AROS partition tables).

If Grub doesn't do the job you could also try using XOSL. The easiest setup I found is to create a ~30MB active boot partition at the start of the disk to install XOSL into, then allow this to handle which partition to boot. Setup is graphical and easy, and it had the handy features of being able to activate and hide unwanted partitions at boot time which was often useful for booting an uncooperative OS.

I haven't tried it with AROS, but used to use it with everything else "back in the day".

There's a newish boot option for this: "bootdevice". AFAIR you edit each GRUB entry's options to add "bootdevice=DH2" for instance to choose the boot volume for the distro you want to boot.

Take a look at the Boot prefs program as well. It can tell you about boot options you might be unaware of (including bootdevice).

Or two bootable and change the boot priority...
It is interesting, if could be possible to write a program to change the boot priority without having to start HDToolBox

Im definately no grub expert, but an alternative would be to simply make a few partitions for different aros installs, then just change which one is bootable through hdtoolbox.

It's how Ive done it at least.
