PerspexSphinx, at the moment there are no programs to create a Pendrive/SD bootable, this is because the developers do not know the structure "AROS". Some time ago I asked the author of Rufus to integrate AROS into its program but he got scared when viewed a structure of AROS, find my discussion HERE.

To create one Pendrive/SD/HD-USB External with AROS you have to start the CD/DVD/ AROS from PC or from virtual machine(also from ISO) and proceed with the installation AROS on Pendrive/SD/HD-USB External, see video.

Install AROS on HD-USB Externa with VMware:

Install Icaros on Penrive with VMware:

To clone 1:1 the Pendrive or SD there is also the excellent USB Image Tool

Etcher seems to do nothing more than the dd command:
"Etcher copies images to drives byte by byte, without doing any transformation to the final device"

There are some tools, that turn a CD-ISO into an image ... but they will probably not work, because they create the wrong filesystem on the stick...

In any case, you would just end up with a install-usb-stick and not proper installation of AROS on the stick, which is probably what you want (or what would make most sense).

So firing up a VM passing the cd-image and the empty usb-stick to it and install AROS this way seems the best choice...

But thanks anyway for pointing out Etcher - it might be easier to use than dd for sd-cards and such...

I don't know what "Etcher" is but you need to format with smart file system "sfs" else AROS will not work.
If you can start some virual mashine and boot the icaros.iso from there you could insert your usb drive and run the aros installer. It will do almost everything for you.

Hi, this is probably a stupid question but...
I?ll ask it anyway...
...can I simply use ?Etcher? from Mac OSX to Flash icaros-pc-i386.iso (Light) onto a USB stick to create a bootable USB stick?
