Quote: And be honest, one of the nicest things is for example to have a background picture on the desktop, while the opened desktop windows are using a pattern (well, in case it works ) nothing against to distinguish background on desktop and patterns in the windows, even if i think listers need solid background to remain readable. however i wonder if you really want to have every window in a different shape and with different fonts for labels;). nevertheless it was just a remark. im not trying to push anything. I never seem able to get my head around all those settings. good thing is that aros has a very reasonable defaults here. i have nothing to complain about;)

thank you for doing so. Quote:
I would suspect as much (although not tested) since other things like snapshotting also seems to bork atm. Quote:
Except from the already known issues, yes i can confirm. Quote:
I do believe that is matter of personal taste. I personally like the distinction because the icons used on my desktop are different then those i use inside folders. Consequentially that also means i would like to use other settings for those. And be honest, one of the nicest things is for example to have a background picture on the desktop, while the opened desktop windows are using a pattern (well, in case it works )I would even go further and would like individual settings stored for each window opened so i can change things depending on the folder being opened. e.g. my games folder uses humongous icons and using a background picture is too overcrowded and looks messy in that case, while i would like my preferences folder to show some nice pattern and using a cool background for the desktop. Icon labels fonts and sizes would have to match that to make it more appealing. Of course that is/would just my personal preference. I can live with how things are working atm and i understand why there is a distinction between the current two configuration options. fwiw: off topic but if there is one thing that is really confusing it is the Zune settings/preferences. I never seem able to get my head around all those settings.

i actually dont think it depends on whether its mui or zune prefs. go to prefs/font preference program and start it. change the fonts assignments, whether for icon, screen or system. (icon is probably easiest to notice). check if it has any actual effect on wanderer (i guess reboot is needed).
another test that comes to mind, would be if 3.1 font prefs are working and taking effect on aros68k wanderer. i cant currently do that as i have only an 3.9+ setup at hand.

my current environment is using MUI and I have replaced most of the prefs there...
I must test it in a nightly... what exactly do you mean?

btw. same applies to font settings. the font. prefs file looks the same as on x86 and contains modified settings. so probably the problem lies with wanderer loading these data. can someone confirm? olaf?

in order not to mess up the others here is my observation id like to confirm:
aros68k wanderer prefs>advanced options (both for desktop as muh as windows), setting font from outlined to plain as well as multi line labels has no effect. it works on x86. btw why to distinguish between the wanderer and drawers when the advanced options in there are all the same? its just too much choice imho. its puzzling and it enables the user to make his desktop look messy.
