ok. after a day of work got v.44 to compile on aros. which means that if i forked the github repo i could probably get simplemail for aros up to date and it would probably get fixed upstream as well, depending on willingness of the autor.
still, as usual it only starts to load and quits silently on i386, however it throws an error on m68k: Quote:
i dont have enough knowledge and experience, and prticularly a reliable practice to debug runtime, other than laborously pflastering the code with debug, where i suspect it breaks. it rarely ever helped me to find the issue. so im stuck here again.

in fact there is pretty much outdated makefile for aros as well as some serious issue that pevents me have it compiled off hand.

Last the SimpleMail 044 version work not well.
I` wrote to author SimpleMail and see what advice can he give.
