gawk is 3.1.3, gcc 3.4.2. This is a Gentoo system, everything is installed in it's latest version. |

But I built my "AROS-Caliente" CDROM on AROS sources grabbed with "cvs checkout AROS ;cvs checkout necessary" only, and all is compiling. Past month have some building macros changed, issuing some problems when compiling from fresh, but all should be in order now. Anyway, be sure build-system/core-system devs read our comments and take them into account. |

There appear to be long-standing issues in building a clean CVS checkout that never get fixed. I've reported problems with clean checkouts several times and it's always ignored.

At first, delete AROS/bin/.
Retry. Then, be sure you have the correct version for gawk. Some others tools need the last versions too. |

No, it isn't normal at all.
Try to restart? Or with another CVS archive? Often, problems like that happens when there are some commands not up to date. |

Long running cxref process during build on linux
|

|---|---|---|---|---|

Today I started compiling AROS on Linux from the 20041021 sources. It's running a cxref process now for nearly 4 hours ("Generating ref for prepareexecbase.c...") on a Pentium M Laptop. Is this normal or should I stop and restart?
Bye... Dirk |
