I guess, this depends on the definition of "SIMPLEST".

The simplest - although most resource hungry - way would be to use the build system . I can understand that this seems to be overkill, I don't like it either for my own projects.

But if you want to build a working library it might be the simplest way . And it would work for all different architectures, too.

Thanks to all

Yes the goal is to obtain an Aros x86 .library

>he wants a cross-compile toolchain
No I would prefer to compile it inside (say) Icaros or an Aros bootable

>For this purpose I used fd2inline
Thanks BSzili I will check it

But what is needed inside the makefile for compiling the sources + header ? need to link to some aros stuff ?

No, he wants to compile natively on AROS.
He says so in his post

I think he's looking for the most up-to-date version of the SDI headers but I think they don't work well on AROS.

Also, I think he wants a cross-compile toolchain to do it with since he doesn't want to build the whole native environment. He wants it for x86 though so FD2Inline will not help much. That would only help with AROS 68k.

It wasn't clear what you need exactly, but I assume you want to generate the AROS header files for your library. For this purpose I used fd2inline, which needs a clib header with the function prototypes and an .fd file.

Hello

I have made a .library for OS3 & OS4
What is the SIMPLEST way to compile it for aros x86 ?
I mean os3 needs inline/lib header OS4 need inline4/lib header/interface but Aros ?

I meant dont answer me "download all the Aros sources and absolutely all dependancies then rebuild all during x hours "

There is certainly a simple way to just recompile a .library in Icaros (as gcc is already included inside and I use this way for porting my other sources to Aros)

Many Thanks
