Hi Mike,
Many thanks for the link - I shall explore the site when it's not quite so late in the evening! Cheers, Nigel.

Alternatively, the Realtek 8180 chipset USB dongles work very well for wireless networking (I use a Netgear WG111v3 and it's fast & reliable). And of course, any questions that come up please do ask - everyone here is very willing to help. Thanks! I just ordered a 8169 from eBay. That's great thank you, I'm sure have plenty of questions. Yeah head over tohttp://www.riscosopen.org/forum lots of knowledgeable people float around there. It's generally the go-to general forum for things RISC OS these days, there's a mix of Pi and other hardware users.

Hi,
I'm Mike, I've been a RISC OS user for close to 10 years, though I had used it into schools years before, eventually buying a RISC PC to play around with at home but had a break for several years after before I started using the OS more frequently. Mainly however I've been using Linux for the past 8 and half years. I became interested in the Amiga scene around the same time I started playing around with RISC OS, being fascinated by the similarities with the Acorn, now RISC OS, world. So why am I here? Well I was at the Recursion computer fair with my RISC OS user group the other day and eventually after passing the Amiga area a few times I had a chat with Nigel and I was really fired up by his enthusiasm for AROS and was encouraged by where the OS is at this current time. I'm thinking as soon as soon as I sort out a working network card for my P4 machine, I'll drop using my Linux/Win laptop for a month (well everything but Minecraft as I play that once/twice a week with a friend) and use RISC OS and AROS and see how it goes. For me AROS looks like it'll fill in the multimedia activities that RISC OS lacks or isn't very good with yet.
