I know others have had a task getting VMWare to behave right - have you got access to any other PC emulators? It works a treat under QEmu

Some AROS Problems

First of all, hello everybody, just joined :)

I've installed AROS on the HD under VMWare, made two IDE hardfiles, one is DHO and one is DH1 (both 1GB), the installation wasnt free of troubles though (im not complaining, just reporting).

My questions are:

1- I've a problem when booting, grub doesnt find hd0,0 but does work if i set hd0, can this be for the fact that i've made two hardfiles instead of having two partitions on the same hardfile ? and, how do i save permanently hd0 in grub config? i cant seem to access the very first grub options (after grub loader stage 1 if im not mistaken) under Amiga side, i can alter the menu.lst file, but that's *after* i've told grub that HD0 is the boot instead of HD0,0

I did search a bit on the forum and i saw an user had this similar problem, but the thread didnt seem to give an understandable (at least for me:) ) fix, in this thread there's a mention of install-i386-pc command, how do i use it ? (sorry if i havent RTFM much) can it fix my problem ?

2- I've installed even the developer package, after fixing some missing file problem (downloaded aros-sdk, which i guess contains architecture-specific files) i've made a simple hello world program, but when i try to compile it a window opens telling me: "AFFS" "Attempted to read/write block outside range! - \n\nrange:2016-2096639, start 18087936, count 1", it seems to be a filesystem bound error or something like that i guess, is this a know bug? or maybe i've made some errors during installation ?

oh, forgot to mention, i've used RDB-FFS patition/bootblock/fs options.

Thanks in advance :)
